I

Welcome
Welcome to the new look News and Notes website.
We have tried to keep all the features of the old site but in a somewhat clearer format.  There's a few pointers below as to how to use the new site.

Please feel free to email the Editor (click here to do so) if you have any questions or comments.

How to see News and Notes
In addition to the Village Crier on the Homepage, you can access the latest edition of News and Notes from any page on the website by using the Menu at the left hand side of the screen and choosing "Current N&N".  You'll also be able to see editions going back to January 2008 by choosing the "Archive" option.

Emailing List
If you'd like to be included on the News and Notes emailing list, please choose the "Emailing List" option from the menu.  If you're on the list, you'll receive an email each month telling you that the new edition is available.  There's an option to have the new edition attached to the email in pdf format but this does lead to a large email which may occasionally cause problems with your email handler.

In addition to the monthly email, we do occasionally use the list to send information about things of immediate local interest.  This facility, though, is used sparingly to avoid swamping email boxes.  It has been used to enquire after lost pets or to highlight an impending local event.

Useful Links
The "Useful Links" option will give you direct access to some favourite websites such as Google, YouTube, BBC News and Facebook.  It also has links to things like train and bus timetables and details of local services and websites.

Advertising
You'll find a page with some "Local Ads" and, of course, there are details of more local businesses in each edition of News and Notes.  If you'd like to advertise in News and Notes, have a look at the "Advertising" page.

Using the Site
Generally, the things you have chosen to look at from any of the pages on the site will open up in a new tab or browser session and, therefore, there won't be the facility to use the Back Arrow.  The News and Notes site will remain open on another page.
